a lonely fish

softly, raindrops
patter on the windowpane --

building up all day
a chaotic confusion --
now soothed by rain

she sailed past the skies
to kiss the stars one last time --
thank you for the dreams

through dark, heavy clouds
a sliver of silver light --
the moon takes a peek

silent as the dead
in the middle of the night
we walk in the dark

the long way around
however annoying
will still get you there

with the last rocket
firing off in the distance
quiet descends
